Yup.. It's time to move on from the 40's on my Escort..

Either Delorto dhla,s or Weber dcoe's will do fine..

I actually need two pairs, as I'm going to carb my Zetec..

Just e-mail me at thegoodlife4us@telus.net Mark

I'll trade ya the Cortina (you can even keep the BDA & gearbox) for a set! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

I'd like a YB...But a BDA would be fine also /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Wouldn't it be cool to show up at the track with a Cosworth in my ITB Pinto?....
Someone would surly protest after I lapped the 2st place car.
But I could play dumb.... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whistle.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Geez, Dave... Ya think the scrutineers would buy it? "Hey, I got th' thing with that lump in it. The guy said it was stock."

Uh-huh. Two great-giant Webers stickin' out th' side...

I've enuff 'stuff' lyin' about here to screw together a nice "warmed" T/C... still lookin' for that Escort Mexico body.

Generally speaking...
After you get your annual, all they do is check your gear and sign off on the logbook.

You could come in and race with something ignorant under the bonnet and no one would be the wiser...
(You might get some eyebrows on the grid when your idle is all goofed up)

The corner workers would surely be onto me almost immediately after hearing what sounds like a baby F1 engine.

I'm thinking they wouldn't even bother writing anything in there...
They would just TAKE the logbook.

But it'd sure be [censored] funny /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I wanted to do that with my Fiesta.
It had a 1700,twin Weber engine.I always wanted to say
"They all came like that"
Most people would believe it!

I got burnt off once by a Fiesta Auto-X'ing...

It was our first time out and my Brother and I just spent gobs of money buying the Vixen & Elva.

We showed up thinking that they would all just surrender the trophy w/o even running.
(on account of being so thoroughly outclassed by our impressive British road rockets)

We had already planned our victory celebration. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

I can tell you it was total astonished silence.
We just didn't loose....We got slaughtered. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif

Was it a yellow one with a Lotus badge on the rear panel, Dave? With a tall, thin, white bearded madman at th' helm? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Nope...He gleefully opened the hood so we see the gerbil wheel & kiss goodbye to what was left of our dignity. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif

(He was a past SCCA national Auto-X champ but we didn't know
that at the time)

Ah, another demonstration of the old adage that experience and cunning will beat youth and enthusiasm every time.

Yea...And I tried explaining that to the car. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif

I actually had someone accuse me of cheating when
I ran a local hillclimb back in the early '80's in our
SSC Fiesta.Completely stock,except roll bar & harness.
It was the best complement I could have gotten.
BTW,I rolled it at the hillclimb, turned in a claim
our insurance company, including a brochure of the hillclimb.
They payed off the car,& let me keep it!

So I guess that's a no for the Webers..
