i have to admit, I dont know much about LBC's...I joined this site to ask questions about purchasing a '65 jag (MKll)..long story short, I didnt buy it...how-ever, I check in here quite often, as my Brother-in-law bought a '74 1/2 MGB a year ago, and just because I am curious, I try and read up on them now and then ..Well...a few months ago, he bought a '76 MGB "parts car"...he got it for a good price and stripped off things he could use on his. The '76 has been sitting outside under a tarp for years...of course, with the top down...mice and other critters have made it their home, so all the "soft" stuff is completely ruined....the motor is locked up (Im going by what he told me...I dont think he has tried anything too involved to roll it over.)...the question is...is whats left..basically a shell..worth anything to one of you guys whos close (Ohio near the lake)..His plan is to take it to the scrap yard when hes done picking it over...from what I have seen, I think its still pretty solid...Keep in mind I havent crawled under it or anything, but what I have seen of it,it looks ALOT !! better than what I started with on my '65 Fastback (Mustang)..or my '51 Ford..He said he doesnt want to deal with the hassle of selling it..so...I know without pics and a better description it is impossible to tell me how much, but ,just in general..is it worth anything?..I will try to get pics and get them up yet this week-end..besides the obvious (floors..rockers..quarters etc)..is there anything in particular you would need to see?.. and..all I really know about it , is that it is a '76 and had an anniversary plaque on the dash ...thnx guys..

If the back end of the tub is in decent condition, I've seen where some guys have cut them in half in front of the door pillers and made a trailer out of them. Some are very well done and look great behind another MGB. Some are extremely ingenious with cookout equipment installed. Even seen one with fold out table and chairs, with an umbrella to boot! That's just one of many ideas. So, to answer your question, yes the tub is worth something to someone. It tears me up to see any part of these cars go to the crusher.

In fact here's one using two rear end sections. PJ
