Hello-
I was wondering if there are any BCF members in the UK that might be able to help. My son and I will be in the UK on Feb. 28th and would love to see the Arsenal game.
Anyone have any tickets? Know how to get them?
You are welcome to PM me with any details. :thankyousign:

Man U. fan here. The Yankees of football
Sit and watch with my almost 16 year old daughter many times during the week
Son is an Arsenal fan.

Don-
Glad to know there are other soccer fans out there.
I regularly attend 2-5 premier youth soccer games every weekend.

Eliot, simply go the their website and fish around. This is how I got tickets to a Man U match a few years ago.

And lemme tell you: you may wish to wear ear plugs at the match. It's loud!

Lots of fun, you'll never forget it. Please be sure to let us know about your experience!

Good luck!

Hi Mark-
I went to the Arsenal website prior to posting my request for tickets. According to the Arsenal site, tickets are only for sale to "Red" and "Silver" members. In other words, you have to first "join" to be able to buy the tickets. Makes no sense since we don't live in the UK.
I have been to World Cup games in the past, and I a know about the noise, but it is the BEST!

Elliot, there are several other soccer fans here, being as there are a lot of Brits who are members. Barry (BAZ) is an Aston Villa fan, and I, for my sins, happen to support the Wolves, aka Wolverhampton Wanderers, currently languishing in the Championship division, or the old secend division as it used to be. At least we are top of the table, have a good team, a good manager, and are likely to be promoted at the end of the season to mix it up with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, et al in August.

ARSENAL? There is a standing joke in the UK, that one supports their regular team, and whoever happens to be playing Aresnal or Chelsea that week. Everyone loves to hate Arsenal!!! They do play some very pretty football though, no question.

A suggestion: Research which teams are playing Arsenal at home during your stay, and try to buy tickets to that ground....... You will get to see the Arsenal play, but not at the Emirates. Suggestion Two: Write them a letter! Explain that since you are in the USA, you are unable to obtain the tickets to see a game in the conventional manner, and enquire if you could buy tickets to see the game any other way, the circumstances being exceptional and all.

I shall see if there is anything I can do for you. No promises, but I can put the word out. Problems is, they are playing Fulham on the 28th, which being a local derby means that tickets will likely be sold out.

On the 3rd of March they are against West Brom in the cup, at West Bromwich. West Brom also play very attractive football, and so this may be a good game to try to see. You may be able to get tickets to the game through West Brom's website, and it is a comparatively short train ride away from London.

Steve-
Last evening I did write to the Arsenal customer service people via their website pleading my case. Unfortunately I did not hear back from them today.
My trip to the UK is very brief.... arrive Friday morning and drive up to my favorite timmers, Aldridge Trimming in Wolverhampton and be back in London Friday evening. I return on Sunday, so March 3 is out of the question.
If you could pull off any magic to get two tickets to the Arsenal game on Sat. night that would be appreciated!
Again Steve THANK YOU for trying to help.

I love watching European soccer, I love the crowds more than anything, the chats and passion. It is nearly the same with the Steelers. I watch LOTS of soccer while deployed but yet to have a favorite team, but have come to dislike Man U or Chelsea for some reason explained to me by some British soldiers I forget now. I do remember they were passionate about why we Yanks should never vote for them but not why. I am open to finding a favorite team, The factors in picking my favorite team will be the passion of hte fans and the uniform/colors.

My kids were looking to but me a Soccer jersey but it is hard when one does not know what our favorite team is.

I've found (when I got over there) that it's easier to buy tickets direct from the club before hand via credit card, and pick them up when you get there.
For teams like Arsenal, you'll have to jump through a bunch of hoops getting an account, and a customer number set up and all that and often times, tickets for a club like that are usually sold out way ahead of time.
There will often be other London clubs playing the same weekend anyway, such as Totenham or Chelsea, although you'll have greater trouble finding Chelsea tickets.
It is mandatory to have a meat pie and Bovril at half time, the traditional equivalent of a Bud Lite and hot dog, but I would presume the Bovril has a higher alcoholic content even if it is watered down gravy.
Also, whichever game you go to, respect the colours of the team whose end you are sitting in. For instance, if you are at an Arsenal game, and you are sitting with the Arsenal fans (segregated seating for obvious reasons), it would improper and somewhat suicidal, to wear blue; especially if they are playing a team whose colours are blue.
If you can get tickets for an Arsenal game, great. If not, there's just as much passion, bad meat pies and foul language at any other Premier game.
Enjoy.
Aston Villa are at home that weekend, just a couple of miles from Wolverhampton, easier to get tickets to.

 Hit the nail on the head there, mate!

The reason that it's easier to get tickets to see the Villa is because they don't have as many people wanting to go to watch 'em play! Sorry Baz, you left yourself wide open for that one!!!!

Wolverhampton, for so long runners-up to get promoted, look like getting into the Premiership this year. Young side, enthusiastic, attacking style.... Need a couple more defenders, though

Hi Baz-
I have got the Arsenal colors all worked out:
<span style="font-weight: bold">Home kit</span>
Colours:
<span style="text-decoration: underline">First Choice </span>
Shirts: Red/White
Shorts: White
Socks: White
Goalkeepers Shirt: Grey

<span style="font-weight: bold">Away kit</span>
<span style="text-decoration: underline">Second Choice</span>
Shirts: Yellow
Shorts: Navy blue
Socks: Yellow
Goalkeepers Shirt: Green

Unfortunately, I don't think the game at Wolverhampton will work out as I am driving directly to Aldridge Trimming in Wolverhampton as soon as I arrive London. Driving back on Saturday would be a bit much.
A "meat pie" AND "Bovril"? That's like eating a hot dog and washing down with a hamburger  .... it gives me nightmares just thinking about it. I know I'll have one of these:thirsty:

As you may gather, I am a Wolverhampton fan..... Gold shirts, black shorts. Away kit is all-black. I'm from there, and know Aldridge Trimming well. Just around the corner, literally, from the old Norton factory on Villiers Street.

Steve-
I got the colors off of a premier league directory of all the teams.
As for Aldridge, I purchased my complete interior from them. They could not have been nicer people to work with, and the quality was excellent.
I have not heard back from the person I wrote to at the Arsenal Club.... I will give it until tommorrow and if I still have not heard, I will PM you.

In order to get tickets, it's also possible to "scalp" one outside the stadium before a match. I haven't done this, but I've seen it done at a Man U match a few years ago.

You might also try the British eBay site, maybe you could find some there?

Mark-
Already looked into both.... scalpers want a huge amount of $.... that's why they are called scalpers!
Didn't find anything on the UK ebay site.
Thanks for thinking of me.
