Any tricks to replacing fuel pump points?

My fuel issues seem to be the points. The failure of the pump became rediculous this weekend, so I dropped the tank and found it was clean. I pulled the pump this evening and the points are burned and pitted. I have a set on order.

So, when I get the new ones and install them, are there any hints or gotchas that I should be aware of?
 
My STRONG suggestion would be to do more than add a diode or a capicator to reduce the point burn, but to completely transistorize your fuel pump and totally eliminate the point burn.

I did mine over 10 years ago for less than $2 and it is still going, untouched.

You can also send it to Dave Dubois and he will return it to you converted to fully contactless, and looking like a new pump. Though it'll cost you more than $2...
