Any steampunkers out there?

This past weekend I spent an afternoon hanging out with some of the local steampunk crowd, and it was so much fun!

I think the funnest part for me is that it wasn't adolescents but adults who know how to have a good time and have great costumes...

Yup, count me in. I've got three different pairs of
Steampunk goggles to wear while driving the TR6.
I get many compliments on both the car and the goggles.
(Goggles began life as 1930 Wilson safety goggles.)

I had to look that up (Wikipedia is my friend), nice addition. In a traffic jam, if you slice in half the car in front of you just right, it'll keel over to each side and you can drive right through.

Steampunk is usually set in victorian times (industrial age) with advanced steam driven and gear driven (some electric) technology.

That's a pretty neat Genra. I don't know If I'd get into it myself, but I really like the look and all the retro gadgets thay have. I'm planning to build some steampunk stuff, but the fantsy role playing is a bit over the top for me. I'll stick with the living history encampments.

It is a neat genre, I'm not a huge costume type but I'll at least make an attempt, and as long as they don't mind me tagging along on their expeditions...
