A '39 Rolls Royce project found me the other day. This is a car I know very little about. Any Rolls fans here?
Bruce

Yeah.

What does this monster look like? Has it any traceability? A lot of the Rollies of that era were one-off coaches on Rolls chassis. Photos?

Always been a fan, just never been able to afford one. It would be nice to see some pictures. Are you sure the Rolls found you?

C'mon Bruce! Phantom? Wraith? Coachbuilder?

Tje story goes like this:
Thirty five years ago a friend of mine obtained this body, along with a complete hearse bodied car for someone he knew. The idea was that they would put the saloon body on the hearse chassis. No go, it was not a good match. The guy kept the hearse and sold the extra body. The saloon body resurfaces this year and my friend gets it back. It is a complete body, front fenders, hood, grille etc. It needs a chassis. It could be a Rolls chassis or "something else". It seems like something like this would not be a good fit with a modern american V8, but maybe something more fitting like a Jaguar V12. I will make arrangements to go see the body and take pictures.

I have a Jaguar Mark VIII chassis that might be able to serve as the chassis for the RR. It has a 120 in wheelbase. I got the car from another member of the forum and one other car which I plan to make one working MK viii. You would need a motor, but at least if the body fits the motor/trans etc should be bolt in.
