Any Other "Bipolar" Owners Here?

I try to stay out of the "which car is better?" arguments/discussions (as long as nobody brings up Italian cars). I like the "who has more cars and what are you gonna do with all them?" discussions. I just like 'em all, al long as they are British!!
Next year's conclave WILL have more Stags!!

I'm "Tripolar" -- I'll try owning anything /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I owned a MGB GT at the same time as my TR3. I'd love an MGA or MG TC -- or a MG SA, for that matter. If I had unlimited funds and unlimited space, I'd own pretty much one of every major British marque! (MG TC, MGA, Triumph Gloria Six, TR2 long door, TR5, Jag XK120 OTS, Lotus Elan, Healey 100M BN2, Bentley Speed Six, RR "Chinese Eye" DHC, AC Bristol...and maybe even a Ginetta, Sunbeam Tiger and Mini in there for good measure.

I've got Sprites, Midgets, a couple of Spitfires, and a GT6, so I guess I'm certifiable. Not to mention the Fiat 850 Spyder.

bcliff, I'll trade you a 128 for a Herald! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I would *PAY* to see you try to squeeze your frame into a Ginetta Sammy!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

Had a 1972 Corvette first, bought a TR6, bought an MG Midget, fixed it up, bought a TR8. Too many cars so some had to go. First to leave was the Midget, shame because it was a roller skate GT. Next to go was the Corvette, don't really miss it, kept both the TR6 and the TR8, both great cars but completely different.
The TR6 is seat of your pants driving, TR8 more refined, enjoy them both. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/canpatriot.GIF /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

I saw this post some time ago and didn't post on it cause I don't presently own a MG, but I see everybody posts if they have owned both or any other 2 cars, so here goes. I own 7 different unique cars. TR3A,75 VETTE, 82 Excalibur, just sold my TR4A, and several others. If interested in selling all of them and a detailed description of all go to www.cardomain.com/ride/816145 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Started with a 77 MGB, then sold it to buy a 66 TR4A. not so much "trading up" fom MG to TR, just from "ready-to-fold-in-half" to "much-more-solid". Now I'm on to a TR2.... Anybody got a driver MGBGT for cheap?

Have had a 74 MGB, 4 TR6's 2 TR250'S and currently own a TR250, TR6 and a MGA. All in neen of reassembly.

I've got a TR250 and a Healey 3000 Mk III. I've spent some time behind the wheel of an MG TD and a rubber-bumper MGB, but I've never owned one. I would, however, *love* a nice MGC soft top to go with the 250 and the Healey. Love those sixes.

1970 MGB and many many pieces of the 1959 TR3A.

MGB was the first engine I ever rebuilt (in high school). I thought I was "the stuff" cruising into high school with that pumpkin orange MG. I remember working with my old man on it. When done there was a box of extra nuts and bolts and "emission controls" (which the old man cursed). Still have no idea where those extra bolts go!

Preference for looks is the TR3 (at least a reassembled one).

Aloha Mickey,

I've had my TF since '72 and driving it since '75. In '91 I adopted a TR3A and bought another in '99 when I gave the first TR3A to my son who is now rebuilding it. The car that is in the garage is the one that is being repaired or upgraded. The other is the car I drive to work every day. I'm fortunate in that my wife has the theory, that a British Car owner meeds two cars, one to work on and one to drive. I've never questioned her reasoning, since it is to my advantage. I've never felt conflicted about the two different marques, maybe a sign of mental illness.

Safety Fast,
Dave

The 1952 MG TD sits on one side of the garage and the 1964 TR 4 sits on the other. I had to install more cabinets to hold all the parts I need to keep both of them running (at present they thay are both roadworthy.)

I wasn't kidding when I said that the MG brand is now owned by the Chinese. Soon, you may be able to buy them at WalMart. TR I think belongs to the Germans. Not sure.

I'm quite positive (at least 95%)that the Triumph name went to BMW along with Mini.
Hey! Does that mean I own 3 BMWs?

Hey RacerGirl,
After driving a Lamborghini Miura, I think I proved that I'm the most flexible 6'4" chap in history. Ginetta would be a piece of cake!!! (okay, maybe it would be REALLY cramped, but with a Miata, I'm getting better at ducking my head and pulling my knees to my ears.

Interestingly enough, the only car I've ever gotten into that I simply was too tall to operate the pedals was a Lotus XII. (About a '68, as I recall.)

When I was in high school I tried getting into a Countach, and couldn't fit through the door. I was able to finally figure out how to get in behind the wheel about six years ago.

I have a '74 TR6 that is an excellent driver and a '69 B that is undergoing a full restoration right now. I love both of my LBCs! A couple of months back, somebody posted about having a B and wanting a 6. I gladly posted my impressions of each car and if you do a search, you'll find it on here. To sum it up, the B is roomier and a much smoother ride. The 6 is faster and sounds much much sweeter going down the road! I prefer the looks of the TR6, too. They are both wonderful cars. I couldn't do without either one of them.
