With the interior almost done, in terms of replacing a couple of floor areas, priming , and so forth, one area that I repaired was the footwell on the passenger side.
I saw these(Wheel arch deflectors) in the Vicky Brit catalog and wondered if they may help prevent moisture in the wheel arch area.
Any experience with these out there in LBC land?

I think the rear wheel arches could benefit from some sort of enclosure. All sorts of dirt and grime build up in the rear arches and bumper supports.

Bingo!

I think it would be much better to simply keep the area clean, seal the seams properly, be sure everything is properly painted and use undercoating over the paint or anti-rock-chip primer under the paint, and give those areas a chance to dry out properly.

Wheel well liners just create another nice, dark hiding area for moisture, muck and mud, that rust will love!

The only exception I can think of might be if running ultra lightweight fiberglass fenders (racing type) that need some protection against flying stones.
 
It will be a cold day in Hades befoe I spend $300+ for two pieces of fiberglass crap like those. They would be much better if they were thermo-fromed plastic like most of the inner liners and should be a lot cheaper too.
 
Winston you old sock!! glad to hear that you have such minor things to fret over!! So the 4 will be ready for spring??Perhaps I will see you at the nats this summer?

I have been putting time and bucks into Ruby this winter, very satisfying.
I'm still hung up on the seats.
Our new speedway just announced ametuer competition, not sure if it will follow SCCA or not.
Their decision makes mine all that more difficult.
I suppose I'll presume that the rules will be followed and inspection will be a part of the events.
I would kinda hope so, not wild about running over 40 year old debris at speed.
Anyway havin fun, and teaching the grandson a thing or two,
like get grampa a beer AND a wrench!
Wish it were April.
