Anyone have any new special projects or shows, events or travel plans in their cars for spring?

Aside from Bill's suspension project, that is....

Im about to do a fine tuning on my 6, including timing , rocker are adjustment, synthetic oil, adjustment of my DGV's

then onto my front suspensiom!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im gunna change up all my rubber in the front end, along with new ball joints...tie rod ends etc......................


then on to what ever breaks next!


I love these cars, their never boring always something to do!

I can always find something to spend my money on!


btw: I love the warmer weather!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Today I installed my aluminum air tunnel which is now making me want to touch up some of the engine compartment paint when the engine swap takes place, specifically, the back side of the grill surround. No rust, just want a better quality finish.
Oh, and plans to make some major inroads on the TR3. Who knows, if I get carried away, I may do a little metal work on my Healey.
So many projects, so little time.

Spring projects? Isn't that what winter is for? :wink: I installed Goodparts CVJs and the Blind Moose shock kit, repaired my TAs with Patton's kit, installed a better heater valve, had my speedo rebuilt, painted a bunch of stuff that goes under the hood and .......... installed rear speakers. Some of this is on my site..... Now I plan on just driving my car for the next 9 months.....hopefully! :driving:

And I'm leaning toward Day of Triumph over Brits by the Sea! Weather permitting.

Mine are to install the GP rear trailing arm caster adjusting kit, new GP triple heat shield and actually get some driving time on the new engine this year.

Oh yeah.....golf with BobbyD and Al.

I'm committed to DOT over Harkness due to club affiliations. Al is usually there as well, so it will be nice to see you (and another Mimosa TR6) there this year. These clubs need to start reading each others calendars to avoid conflicts like that.
 
I hope to finish the front end. So far the drivers side is complete and the passengers side is stripped down.

you bet, combo of both. Very time consuming project, as you know. I guess I didn't expect it to take as long as it is, oh well.
 
I was getting ready to reply to someone in this thread yesterday when Basil took the Forum down for some maintenance. When it came back up that was one of the missing posts. So here's what the rear speakers look like with the top down and the boot cover in place.

Man oh man, where to start! We didn't get around to much this winter (other than sorting out the Tiger's leaky fuel system), since we started a new business in January. So, our punch list is slipping into Spring. Actually the list of things we *have* to do is pretty short:

My TR-250: (i) new anti-squeal shims for the front brakes; (ii) balance the carbs; and (iii) check the timing (haven't done it in a while.

Girlfriend's TR-6: (i) emergency bonnet release; (ii) balance the carbs; and (iii) adjust idle speed.

That's pretty much it! The list for the other cars is a whole lot longer, but since they're not Triumphs, I won't go into it. :laugh:

At this point, we're just waiting for the weather to warm up. Daily temperatures in DC have been below average this Spring. Where's that global warming they promised us??

That was me Bob. I thought I was losing my mind. "Didn't I write a reply to Bob about that speaker box, guess I didn't?" Anyway, I was going to ask you how you fastened the box to the car and if the top actually fit behind it. I can see from your recent picture that it does. That's sweet. DPO of my 73TR6 put 6" speakers in kick panels of footwells. I'm afraid to look behind them as I assume he had to cut into the metal to allow for the magnet. I thought of putting a box like yours on the shelf but laying flat. I like yours better as the top doesn't cover it when down and the orientation is forward and not up to the sky. Thanks.
 
Crisis....... I'm not going nuts either then. That part of the thread got lost when Basil did the back up. It's attached with a 2" right angle bracket on each end. I had to drill into the wheel well to attach it. On the VTR site in the maintenance section is a How To on building a speaker box that lays flat. I've got the .PDF if you want a copy. I went with upright because I wanted to tuck the window and the boot cover behind the box. I thought it was a cleaner look.
