'Nother time, quizas.

One more for a nightcap... Largo dia manana (Lo siento; no tengo el ~ para las letras "n" en mi "keyboard"!)

I'm planing on going to the trails around Ouray Co mid august for a week of camping and offroading. Fantastic country and there is nothing better for the hart than going down the shelf road on black bear pass. In spots its so narrow there may only be an inch or 2 sperarting you from a 2500 foot drop /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif May also do MG2007 if some other stuff doesn't pan out.

mehheh. Bill it to "Bugeye58"... Just on 'general principles'. The keyboard shortcomings 'round these parts (lack o' ~'s) are all HIS fault lately. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Now THAT'S a road!!!!! I'd join you on that one if it wasn't quite so far away. Have fun!

4wd one way road that drops in to telluride colorado from the east. It's a beautiful drive till you get to the shelf road which starts off with an off camber right turn on loose rock with a shear cliff on the side. Each switch back may be a 3 to 5 point turn with no room for error. A crowbar may be needed to separate you from the seat at the bottom but the view from the top is so worth it.

And what separates you from what's in your pants after that ride?

We're heading to Grand Rapids 7am on Wed, August 8th - for John Twist's Summer Party. I'm running the Endurance Rally with Mary Coxon (KLUTZ's wife) and then the show is Saturday I believe.

Well Janel,

Unless you get in touch with us, I have no idea weather to book the extra day at the Motel or not.
A Grand Daughter can't make you dissapear, can it?
So, for now.. we are going down on the 9th, unless I hear differently from you. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Just finished driving the Romantische Strasse in Germany from Rothenburg ob der Tauber to Garmish.....beautiful vistas, great cars, wild motorcycles.

....&,its amazing what Audi's A4 turbocharged diesel w/6-speed will do on some of those curves & grades!

"Modern" equipment ain't all that bad, huh?

Too bad we can't HAVE it here.

Doc - that little thing FLYS & corners like a skateboard.....100mph & its not over 3,000rpm!

All I have to go by are the reports of friends who've tried 'em. You're about the third one to say it needs to be sent HERE for us nutcases who LIKE that sort of thing. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

Rumor has it happening, but we'll see.

seen the Top Gear episode with the Audi A8 (?) with a V-8 twin turbo diesel? The thing made loads of horse power, and tons of torque, and yet, Jeremy Clarkson managed to drive it 800 miles on 1 tank of gas, to average 40MPG.

I've read that VW is planning to bring the turbo diesel Jetta back to the states and have it 50 state legal.

I also read there's some sort of emissions development that the engine aliance between Audi, VW, and Merc for diesels that injects urea into the exhaust to cause a reaction that'll make the engines super clean... yeah, I said urea.....

Just imagine, having to wee into a bottle under the hood of your car so you can pass the emissions test... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif
