Re: Logo choice

Alan,
What would those AN fittings look like anodized black? That would really look like The Dark Side. Would make Jaybird, et al, shudder.

What's your estimated completion date for the whole car?
If it runs like we all hope, you should be Top Gun over here.

I'll tell you, since I got my throttle problem worked out using the Lokar cable and Ab's design, I hit 4000rpm in a heartbeat. I am afraid to even redline, I back off. It pulls very, very hard all the way up...

Re: Logo choice

If I do - and thats up in the air - then it will be on carbs. There just isn't time to get the ecu installed to get it to run on efi. At this point I'll be grateful to have the bloody car...

Re: Logo choice

Bill - I started off with unfinished aluminum - it was going to contrast with that until I found a place to do cheap anodizing. Funnily enough all the braided hose fittings are black - red/blue was backordered. The other thing to remember is that all the fuel distribution kit is aeromotive - so it is all billet red.

I want it back running on carbs by the end of May at the latest. At that point everything to do the conversions is done. Engine, gearbox, diff and halfshafts will all be replaced. I'm hoping for about 140hp (remember these #s are all crank) with the new cam on the stock ZS carbs.

The question then is what do I do.

I have to drop it off for 2 weeks to get the efi conversion done (and the guy doing it is a LONG way from me - like 12 hours away so I don't do it on a whim). I also need to get the castings and the intercooler for the supercharger, but the eta on that is still nebulous.

The problem of course is that it is prime driving weather. I might wait until it gets hot and then drop it off, with the aim to have it back for the Brit invasion in Sept, or I might drive it through Thanksgiving. I'll firm up what I'm doing when I get it back - it depends on the date for the s/c stuff more than anything now.

Oh and after all this it had better be fast. If not someone is going to get a great deal on a TR6 and I'll be posting on either the Lotus forum or I'll be back on Rennlist....

Re: Logo choice

alana, repeat after me: "Lotus...Lotus...Lotus..."

Porkchop, sheesh.... Where's yer sense of HERITAGE, man?!?! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Or to quote Mr. Fawlty: "Well, YOU started it!"

Re: Logo choice

Not to put a fly in your ointment here, but they've been around since 1931 - that's a good 21 years longer than Lotus.

Plus their cars break down less often (at least in my own personal experience). They also have some little credibility as a sportscar mfr - leaving the Cayenne aside.

Ok, I'll grant you that they aren't British, but you can't get new TVRs here, so what's a boy to do...

Back on track. I'm sure the TR6 will be fine - if not then I'll worry about changing it out, not until.
