Team of Rivals is on my list to find. Anything Doris does is great.

Finished her "No Ordinary Time" last month.

"Truman" goes on the list, too.

Lately it's just been RTFM with computer warez:
"The Firebird Book" Helen Borrie... *sigh*
 
I'm just finishing up "Flyboys" by James Bradley (author of "Flags Of Our Fathers") It's an eye opening look into both Japaneese and American culture prior to and during WWII. the main story is about Amerian Navy pilots that were shot down, held prisoner, and ultimatly exicuted on the Island if Chichi Jima. Definatly worth a read. It uses a lot of first hand accounts to give an inside glimpse of what both sides went through.
As for Auto related books, I always reccomend "The Last Open Road" series. It's a fun look at the sportscar racing culture of the 50s. Packed with lots of facts about famous races, cars, teams and people. The main charecter "Buddy" is at the 55 LeMans race and gives a historically accurate account of the day. Good read.
I recently read the Lake Woebegon book as well. To get the full effect you have to read it with Garrisons voice running in your head...hehehe Great book.
 
I just read:
Liberty and Tyranny by Mark Levin.

This kind of war by Ferenback Pretty in depth read about the Korean war.

To set the record straight By John Sirica Watergate from the inside of the investigation

And a bunch of Corvair related stuff.
 
anything by mark kurlasnki. some interesting reads about seemlingly uninteresting things like "Cod; the Fish that Changed the World", and "Salt", "The Big Oyster" (a history of NYC). there is another one which escapes me now.

another one is "Longitude" which is a great book about the developement of accurate time keepers. forget who wrote it, though.

i think this one has been around a while, ive just finnished reading, intersting, and enjoyed it, "when all youve ever wanted isnt enough", by rabbi harold kusher, also his.."when bad things happen to good people".., the subject of both is the human condition.
