Considering buying a replacement front end, want to use funds as wisely as possible.
Paul in Tacoma had one a while back, sent a PM waiting to hear.
Anyone else? Or know of one?

Curious, what is the issue with your current bonnet?

Arthritis is making lifting that heavy thing a chore.
It also needs body work, but mainly the weight.

Rick, have you considered converting to tilt forward? Heaviest part of the bonnet (front end & head lamp assemblies) will be at or near the pivot point making the amount you lift greatly reduced.

Yes I have considered it very seriously.
It's a very definite possibility, if I keep the steel bonnet.

Get some of those gas hood/hatch lift assists and install them, could get a power assist for a hatch from a junkyard too.

Could just get sum rope, a couple of pulleys and some cinder blocks and make yew yer own redneck pow'r assist for in the garage. :thirsty::hammer:

Front tilt on the steel bonnet will be light/easy/cheap/fast. Imagine how much effort it would take to get one of those fiberglass bonnets mounted/reinforced for rear hinge or front tilt...

Rick;
I also think that I have an extra front tilt kit somewhere that we could do some horse trading with, if interested.

Paul, which tilt front kit do you have? If putting that on my existing bonnet makes the problem go away then that's the way to do it for sure.

Just saw this listing on Craigslist for three Bugeye bodyshells with hoods. $500 each or $1000 for all three. 'Thought maybe you could find one good hood out of all three, but you'd need to get photos.
