I have a Cannon digital camera that started to take blurry and orange pics. The video is perfect but the still are not even viewable. Anyone experience this and know what it might be? It'd probably cost more than it's worth (these days) but it was a lot new and I'd like it as a garage camera for my cars. We have another and this one just sits there taking up space.

Odd that, same lens, same sensor for video and stills. Must be processing. Have you tried to reset the camera to factory defaults?

Yes. The mrs. is trying it all and nothing. I thought it might be flash related and a timing issue but still not sure. I also get an "E18" error which is lens related and wonder if it something to do with that.

If it's a point-and-shoot compact camera it might just be toast... Very few of the lower-end cameras are worth fixing if they die, I'm assuming it's out of warranty? If it is you are likely better off just simply replacing it...

Thanks. I get the E18 from time to time and the battery trick usually works to solve it.

The blurry pictures problem is what I'd like to get rid of.

Most likely the same problem. Because the E18 error is related to lens extending and retracting, it will interfere with the auto focus of the camera.
