Any Carter carb experts here?

1964 Corvette. Wow - that is a *classic* in the true sense of the word. Got any photos? Long ago I hoped to find a late 1950s or 1960s Corvette; I never was much of a fan for the post 1970 models.

It's amazing how many references there are on Carter carbs, but how few references actually talk about adjusting that thermo-spring black cover (with the index marks), or give details on exactly how to set the fast idle - unless there's a fast idle screw.

Maybe Carter just assumed that mechanics of the day just "knew" what to do.

Thanks Jay.

Tom, I agree and am surprised for a carburetor used on so many different makes and models that there's no definitive information out on the web saying..."this is what you do".
As for my '64, it's just like the Triumphs...I'm hooked. Not more, not less, but hooked just the same. As a teenager in the 60's into sports car racing, seeing and hearing them at Watkins Glen was all it took. Plus added to that...seeing The Beach Boys album with them standing around one and knowing the Astronauts were driving them, I didn't stand a chance.

Here's mine...thanks for asking (just like asking about kids/grandkids):
