Any "Car Properties" out there?

I've been looking & am thinking - where are the
"car properties"?I'm talking 5-8 car garage,with living
quarters above.Do they exist,for a reasonable price?

Re: Any "Car Properties" out there?

I've been told that some insurance company's frown on these type units because of being a fire hazard and if they will insure them, the rates are pretty high. Worth checking into before jumping in. JMHO. PJ

Re: Any "Car Properties" out there?

If you want to move to Alabama, Tony's place is on the market.

Re: Any "Car Properties" out there?

I know of a place in Olney Md. outside of DC. Ok house big 2 car attached garage, and a nice "pole barn" garage in the back. Has a lift already, and comes with the tools. Owner wants to go back to Argentina.

Hemmings Motor News usually has a section in back for automotive-nut real estate.

This one is not avalable....but then I only have an office with kitchenette and bathroom in the barn.

My wife would get really upset with me....and my MGs would have no home if we sold.

Re: Any "Car Properties" out there?

Do you own the farm around it Rick?

Re: Any "Car Properties" out there?

I was looking around at places for sale,& noticed that they
don't have many listings for that kind of property.
Tony's place would be a dream come true - but I don't think
that I could even afford the insurance on it,& the same for Rick's
place.I'd be looking for someting much more affordable.
It's only an idea for now - but who knows?

angliagt, if one is in the position to buy and serious id advise they get hold of a realestate broker tell them what your looking for and have them look for foreclosures... nasty word that.

No...I have five acres, surround by farmland on the north, east, and most of my south property lines.

I lived above my old shop that was once a Toyota service department.

I do have a tractor...a 1954 Ford NAA Jubilee.

My wife refers to me as "Mr.Oliver Douglas".

Thanks...I've got a soft spot for Ford tractors. (I refer to this one as my "Triumph" (rick ducks)

Lots of them around here as well!

LOL at your "pedal" comment!

Re: Any "Car Properties" out there?

Great looking old tractor. The summer camp I grew up at had an old IH tractor (I'd guess 1950's vintage) that was just fantastic. Finally got to drive it near the end of my time there. Too much fun.

As for car properties, Doug, your best bet would be to get some land far enough out of the cities to have looser development restrictions. Pole barns are pretty cheap and can hold quite a few cars.

Re: Any "Car Properties" out there?

Rick, have a good friend in VA. has 5 acres and the same tractor. Used to pull his mower behind it.
Decided to get an X Mark after the mower crapped out.

Re: Any "Car Properties" out there?

Just for the heck of it,I tried to look up Tony's place
by looking at the MLS listings. It's not there, but there sure
a lot of ezpensive places for sale in that area.Nasa employees
losing their jobs?

Re: Any "Car Properties" out there?

Depends on what you call "affordable". They're out there for sure. You can always go here, but the site isn't what it used to be. Mostly fancy estates now that aren't really car properties...
