Any british car shows in in the southeast?

Did you see the incident at the Indy BritishV8 meet? A car blew a hose and leaked antifreeze. Apparently, they failed to stop session and a guy smacked his TR6 into a wall on the straight after spinning at fairly high speed. I do not know the details, but it seems like it could have been prevented.

Driver was OK with just bruises and small cuts.

I like how at CMP the track guy flags us in after a few
laps and gives the cars a "knowledgeable eye" test before allowing more laps.
It was nice that all the LBCs there passed his inspection and could continue. Heck he even gave me a push to re-start when the starter failed. Nice people. Fantastic track and facilities.
Clean as a whistle and nice folks... including Hap...! :jester:..
What more could anyone ask for?

Anything can happen anywhere, including at the track, chances are you are safer on the track than you on the public roads.

There are only two cement walls at CMP, both on straights, so you should be behaving there, and even if you hit oil or coolant in straight line, you should be Ok. CMP has tons of run off room.

Guys, this is probably not something I should say on a forum, but I've put my life in much greater risk on public mountan roads (passing slugs) , than I ever have on the race track. Think of this, chances are no one will be texting and driving while on the race track.

I always had a rule as SCCA instructor, if I heard your cell phone ring, you sit out the next session, if you answer it during instruction, you're done for the weekend. The race track is way safer place than public roads will ever be, because everyone is paying attention and all going in the same direction. Consdier the TR6 hitting some slick on a public road turning sideways and getting hit head-on by semi truck, that isn't going to happen on track.

Also, if I or Jochen (main instructor at CMP) see anyone do anything we consider really dumb or see evidence of a car leaking fluid, you're off the track, no questions ask. Like I said before we had a good group so far with good common sense.

I would never talk anyone in to doing a track session, many are very imtimdated by it, even though it's not that big of deal. I never had to reel anyone in for being overly aggressive, but believe me, I would in a skinny minute if I had to, and put them packing so fast it would make their head spin. It's my job to keep you guys safe out there, and make sure you have a fun, but safe time, I take that job very seriously.
