I went to a car show last week, it was 102 degrees. My radiator bubbled over a little bit, water rusty. I have never put any antifreeze in it yet. Any recommendation on kind?

I have always used the standard, old fashioned, green. Unless you plan to flush the system, I would add whatever color is currently in the car.

I use Prestone premixed.Easy.Yellow with a slight green tint from Walmart.
The cat isnt allowed in the garage so no worries about ethylene glycol drips being licked up.

The ideal ratio will depend on where you live (does it freeze?).

In Tucson I run 30% antifreeze because I can. Tried water wetter but wasn't convinced it was necessary.

If the coolant is rusty, you really should flush the system and refill it. I've used the Prestone radiator flush, but there are others. Just follow the directions.

I use any good-quality coolant, 50% mix. Here in SoCal, the water has a high mineral content, so I use distilled water.
