I removed my heater box onmy 79 Midget to paint it. I finally turned the car back on today after 3 years. It powered right up..WOO WOO! But green coolant came out of one of the hoses to the heater box! I noticed what looks like a hut off valve (mini spigot) and turned it and the fluid stopped. is this nromal for coolant to go into the heater box???? thanks!

Lou

Yes, that's where the heat comes from. If you open the box, you will see a small radiator and the coolant simply circulates through. The shut off allows you to turn it off in the summer.

thansk JP for answers her and on clutch fluid! i think its funny that they actually have a shut off valve...but glad they do !

When the valve is 'turned off' Cylinder #4 is going to run HOTTER than with it turned on. FWIW

thank you!
