I was under my car today tracing some wires and saw that the attachment hardware from one end of the front anti-sway bar was completely missing--bolt, nut, bushings, etc.
I installed the bar a long time ago--probably 20 years--and though I neglected to mike it today I think it is 3/4" diameter.
I don't know if the hardware is sold separately--does anyone know the easiest/best place to get replacement mounting hardware?
 
The stock links broke on mine because I have a 3/4" ASB. Also, my front is lowered a bit. I used a 6" x 1/4" grade 8 bolt and some 1/4" galvanized pipe for a spacer. The pipe is cut to length so the arms on the ASB are horizontal. The bolt, nut, pipe and the washers are available at your local ACE Hardware or equivalent. The bushings are available from Moss in rubber or poly. I have the poly ones in black (same as the transmission bushings).

Thanks for the quick reply and since the remaining hardware on the right front probably owes me little or nothing I'll pull it off and use it for size.
 
If any of the rubber bushings need replacing the newer poly ones really work great. Mostly standard size so available from most sources.
 
It is the hardware attaching the upgraded 7/8" (not 3/4" as I first assumed) anti-sway bar to the A-Arm/Spring seat assemblies that I am in need of--specifically the nuts and bolts and urethane as opposed to rubber bushings and cupped washers.

I installed the present Denis Welch ASB about 20 years/75K miles ago and DW sells a repair kit specific to the 7/8" bar replacing all parts except for the bar itself, the approximate price including shipping being about $125.00.
I also see that Ahead For Healeys has a 7/8" bar which includes three adjustment positions plus rose joints--assumedly preferred--for about $250.00 including shipping.
Moss also sells a 7/8" bar and I assume it comes from the UK with similar pricing.

So the issue is whether to buy replacement parts for my present bar or get a new one and the question is whether or not anti-sway/anti-roll bars "wear out"?
Google says the links and soft parts should be periodically replaced, which of course is the minimum I am contemplating.

Your thoughts will be appreciated.
 
I put a larger (7/8" ?) sway bar kit from Addco on my BJ8 many years and miles (80K?) ago, and have noticed no degradation in handling (though it would be hard to measure). Note 'torsion bars,' which perform similar duties, are used on some cars' suspensions and I've never heard of any issues with them wearing out.
