The ARV had 2 vacuum connections and 2 electrical wires.
One of the hose went to the fitting on the intake manifold as the Vacuum supply. The other hose went to the float chamber vent of a ZS carb via the carbon canister
When the ignition key was turned to the "OFF" position juice was sent to the ARV opening it to the intake manifold vacuum. As soon as the residual oil pressure dropped at the oil pressure sensor, the ground to that circuit was broken and the ARV deenergized.
During the interval of time that the ARV was open to the manifold vacuum, the vacuum found it's way to the float chamber thru hose to the vent nipple and prevented anymore gas from traveling up the carb's jet, reducing the engine's tendency (if any) to run-on.
Since you don't have a ZS carb the whole thing can be removed, provided that the nipple on the intake manifold is, in turn, capped or plugged.
