Does anyone know what the following is from Moss?

I'm looking to start putting the body back on the 100 and I noticed this. Is this a gasket of sorts?

I'm not really sure what Moss is selling.
When two metals that are far apart on the electromotive series such as steel fenders & aluminum shrouds are in contact and have an electrolyte such as water, (salt water is especially bad) between them, a current flows & galvanic corrosion results.

One way to reduce the corrosion problem is to place a sacrificial material between the two metals. Zinc or magnesium will both corrode before the aluminum.

Another way is to electrically insulate the two metals so that the destructive current does not flow. Some folks have tried insulating strips of tape in the joints.

I think it's generally agreed that a very good protective coat of paint on the mating shroud & fender flanges will do a pretty good job of insulating & preventing corrosion.

Great, I was wondering what this was, two well painted surfaces on a car that will not see a lot of rain should be good enough!

Another name for the strip that Moss is selling is known as dum-dum. Kinda like silly putty, but sort of sticky. It is also black in color. Body shops and windshield (sorry windscreen) guys use it.

I also passed on using it. The stainless steel bead is hard enough to get in as it is, without adding the dum-dum to the mix. Just wait till you try to get to some of those screws/bolts and clips. (What are those things anyway. They have a bolt head with a screw shank).

Yea, I really liked getting the one screw at the top of the rear wings in.... just enough room to make you believe it's possible.
