TR6 antenna location in a TR6

Has anyone had to install an antenna in a TR6 which had not previously had one? I know it goes just forward of the drivers door on the quarter panel but mine does not have one or the hole for one. The current manually extended model on the market could fit but there is no access I can find other thaw whatever hole is created. I'd appreciate hearing from someone who knows how this is done. Thanks.

I'm moving to the Triumph forum. The "Forum Help" forum is for asking questions about navigating the forums.

Pretty easy to do. You can also install it in the rear drivers fender.

DC or state?

They did not leave the factory with antennae installed. The location was left up to the dealer. The locations that I have seen are both left and right sides, front fender next to the windscreen and either side on the rear scuttle panel. So really, it is up to you where you put it.

I was always under the impression that the early cars up to '73 had the antennas mounted on the right side, while '74 to the end were on the left.

My '72 is on the right bulkhead, the '74 was on the left fender. I had to drill the hole for the '74 and was told to put it there.
