Another Tachometer Question

After much debate as to what tachometer to use I bought a Smiths rvc 2415 negative ground tach to use. This tach. is 4" and will fit in my dash, it is also negative ground and is compatible with my electronic ignition. My question is, the tach has 2 wire connections on the back one bullet and one spade. Looking at the wiring diagrams I have found on the inter net it appears the bullet connection goes to the negative connection on the coil and the spade connection goes to the white (12 volt) wire connection on the ignition switch, I assume the ground is by the attaching bracket on the back of the tach case. Anyone know if this is the correct wire attachments? I thought I'd double check before I hooked it up and fried it. Thanks, Don
 
You are correct on all points. Some RVC tachs have a spade lug spot welded to the case for the ground connection. Where those aren't provided you use a ground wire with a ring terminal around one of the gauge's mounting screws/studs.

One change you may wish to consider is either placing a fuse inline with the white wire to the ignition switch OR connecting the tach to one of the "green" wires behind the dash as they should be switched and fused at the fuse box.
