Hmmm not even AI

For a while we had some radio ads that were designed to do exactly this. The whole commercial was nothing more than a voice slowly and clearly saying "Text XXXXX to YYYYY", at least 5 to 8 times in the space of the 30 second commercial. XXXXX was the keyword for the product they were trying to sell and YYYYY was a 5 digit short text number. They were counting on people's phones picking up on the audio from the commercial and executing that instruction, thus signing up the person to receive "consented" text ads from the company.

I don't know if they were forced to stop legally or if just plain bad P/R put an end to it, but I havn't heard those style commercials for a couple years now.

I suspect that, if you read the agreement Visa wants you to sign to use the service, it would tell you exactly what can go wrong.

Lets hope so and you have an opt out. The articles I've seen online when searching for OpenAi and VISA don't really go into details of how it'll work. I do know I don't want son AI making purchases in my name of anything.
