Looking on British Tools site, they have a brand by "Everest" that is less expensive than others on there. Why? Is it an El-Cheapo brand? Or just a less expensive brand, but still good enough to get the job done?

Also, (heres the silly question) will Whitworth sockets fit on an American ratchet, or do i need an whitworth ratchet as well?

For no more than you will likely use them, the cheaper sockets should be fine.

The square drives are the same dimensions as US.

Discusses the usefulness of having Whitworth tools- I've not needed them at all for my Healey and have found standard wrenches and sockets work fine for virtually everything.

Hi James,
The BN1's & BN2's still had a mix of Whitworth & more standard fasteners. There are some places on a BN2 that only a Whitworth wrench will fit correctly. With a few exceptions, the later cars do not have this problem.

and yes, i have tried my american stuff (like on the front suspension) and it won't fit!

Five whitworth sockets and three end wrenches plus the ever present and very important large Crescent wrench have met all my fastener/unfastener requirements on British cars from the 40's, 50's and 60's. Whitworth sockets should fit a standard 3/8" rachet wrench.
