Friday Funny: Polygons, Bananas and Clocks Maths Problem
After all the fun on Twitter after the last Friday Funny: Sporting Maths Puzzle, I have found another one to challenge you with. This one also comes from the Book of Face and showed up because someโฆwinthropdc.wordpress.com
The number 32 isn't even shown as a possible answer.
Inquiring Minds Want to Know!
Yes I knew that. I was responding to nutmegโs post.Eliot, that is not the same problem that Basil posted. Note it has another bunch of 3 bananas on the final equation. The correct answer on it would be 35.
Tom you would have had it had you done the multiplication first and not the addition. When the operators are the same type (e.g. addition and subtraction), we proceed left to right and none has precedence. But, if there are mixed operators (addition/subtraction AND multiplication/division), the multiplication and/or division is performed left to right before addition and subtractions.I think I'm more confoozled than before.
Anyway, amazing how early some of us go online when there's a contest!
I get 90 but sometimes I'm just guessing.
No fair, it was dark and very early when I attempted to solve it.
