Another Scam???

Interesting, Looks EXACTLY like a fellows car that I contacted concerning the front apron surround {he told me , a few years back there were some guys in California that were manufacturing Stainless Steel grill surrounds for 56/57 Tr-`s
I no longer have his email address or website BUT those Ebay Pics really do look VERY famillar!
It would Totaly suprise me IF this guy was selling {but then just possibly this isn`t the same car.} BUT as I said it looks really really famillar.
B.T.W. the owner of the car I talked to IS smart enough to know what he has/had and would NEVER list it as a Tr-6, NO WAY.

{Those pics look like they came right off of his website, Trees in the background and all.}

Could VERY easily be a scam!

I see a lot of this sort of "misinformation" on eBay, from sellers who apparently are convinced that the only way anyone will see their ad is by putting in popular search terms. Maybe it's not the worst thing in the world, and maybe sometimes it's even useful; mostly, I tend to find it deceptive at best. (If I were looking for a TR3, I'd search TR3, or TR-3, or TR 3, and/or other variations; some sellers are smart enough to include common variations in their ad copy. Conversely, I tend to be annoyed when, for example, a search for a TR6 actually leads me to an ad for a TR3!)

SCAM ALERT!!!!!

Try to Watch this auction...no can do!

Try to read the sellers feeddback...no can do!

FRAUD!

see my post "someone in Maryland..."

I remember seeing this same car about 6 months ago, i recall the comment about the look of the car without the front bumper.

Also, the car has gone from a no reserve bid to a buy it now for 2,900 in the last five minutes.

Scam for sure:

I just went to send him an Question stating: "I want to buy it right now: Send the Title and the Car & I`ll send you the cash"! Could`nt send it! Req`d. My Email Address first:

His Feedback will not come up either:

What a Shmuck;

I sent a fraudulent listing email to Ebay

That commission number may be a little high for a TR3 too, but I'm not sure of that.

The Vin {TS19876L} he has listed, deffinately would NOT be a Small Mouth car! NOT original anyway, thats not to say someone didn`t like the smallmouth front apron better than the O.E.M. apron that came on this Ts #
From what I can tell by his pics the car has the correct EARLY doors on it {No exterior door handles} to match the front apron again indicating that the TS # He indicates is bogus.
IF there were pics of the rear of the car I could tell if it IS an actual early 56/57 Tr or if it is a mix N match car.
Irregardless I smell a fish fry!
Apron changes were made in Sept 57 along with exterior door and trunk handles and two additional lights on the rear.

The 2 additional light on the rear came earlier. It was with the TR3A that the mounts became incorporated into the body. Previous to that, the light mounts were a seperate piece of metal.
