Another Rochdate Olympic on eBay

Kinda looks like a little mutt who can't decide which breed he wants to be.....cuddly though!

Funny, I don't see either--to me the front end looks like a TVR and the overall car like a SAAB 95.

Here's one that's been modified a little, in such a away the the Porsche resemblence has been heightened.

From the front at the right angle the stock ones have a fair look-alike impression.

I've seen these and maybe even this one on e-bay at a local show and they are very appealing in the flesh. Like a limited edition GT6/Spitfire, and about that size.

I'm interested... wonder if I can sneak it past the gate-keeper???? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Indeed it looks like a 911. What about the car in the back row--looks like it is owned by a Washington Redskins fan--perhaps one of the Hoggettes?

Best--Michael Oritt

A little you say?

I was thinking TVR, Simca (for some reason), and Renault Alpine.

I guess "little" is relative. Its a fiberglass body so removing the accents along the sides around and after the wheelarches wouldn't have been too demanding, nor would adding a front bumper instead of the side bumperettes. But I must confess I'd forgotten that the hood was bulged and presumed that flattening it was a change with the Phase II models, it wasn't.

I find it quite appealling, though a fiberglass monocoque (as per early Lotus ELites) may be a risky proposition....

I may try and go see it... a nice drive through the Scottish countryside, at least....

Seller links the looks to Porsche, but looks more a lot like an E type coupe to me. Glassfibre seems to have held up well.

The Rochdale Owners Club site mentions that its designer owned an early Porsche and that influenced the design. From the right angles it does look a little Porsche-ish; or early TVR-ish too.

It went for ÂŁ4600! (= $8500 more-or-less) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

I looked at it right at the end and a bidding war broke out that pushed the price up ÂŁ1000.

I was very tempted, when it was cheaper....

Maybe when the Healey's finished and I've a little more time and a lot more money..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

That was a nice looking little car, I was thinking it looked like a cross between a Porsche 356 and a TVR, but that's already been said.
