.and an additional reason: the elimination of their penny.
Yeah but that's scary. Talk about inflation, your money isn't worth anything anymore and needs to be bumped up to the next level. Think about it.

Ah Billy...then our money is worthless too
only 3 cents difference last I checked

Correct, however; you can still spend it and it hasn't been rounded up 500% yet (250% by actual monetary value, however: that's on the fed, not us).

This is happening a lot even in Winnipeg which is up here in the great white north. It not only happens at coffeee shops but at restaraunts as well.Maybe not a whole bunch of money like the news reports but quite often a one on one deal.Every Saturday the paper has a whole page of acts of kindness and a lot are someone payin it foreward. But then canucks remember when our dollar was worth 1.10 years a go and many US stores would not give the exchange. So we have a dollar a bit lower now but 3.5 cents is not even worth worrying about.
At our swap meet I collect for the food bank and the generousity of car people amazes me.It is easy to collect a thousand plus dollars as well as 8 to a 1000 pounds of food in 6 hours. As to car peop[le Dennis Gage confirmed Winnipeg is the car crazy capitol of North America.I guess that may mean I am a bit crzy as well

Enjoy today

Canada saw, recognized and took steps. So the reason we should continue the folly is....?
Who is "we"? The Fed is a private entity, it has nothing to do with the US government. "We" don't control our own money anymore. That changed a long time ago. The dollar sank before the Titanic did...

Great. Also at Dunkin Donuts here in New England.

Bravo. And speaking of coffee and donuts for others, where's that happening here in the USA?

Tom

It's happened before at Starbucks Tom... although I've haven't heard of it recently.

Now if only I actually liked Tim Horton's coffee, which I don't! :wink-new: Or am I not a real Canadian for saying that?

I think you're an *honest* Canadian for saying that!

Best coffee I know, is the "Turkish" coffee I make myself. Put a spoon in it, let go, and the spoon stands straight up. :encouragement:
