Another question on Watkins Glen..

I convinced my wife to head up to Watkins Glen to catch part of the Grand Prix Festival this September 5-7. Won't have a Triumph with us, and due to some work getting in the way can't stay for the Sunday races but will catch anything on Friday and Saturday.

On the Watkins Glen website, they only show tickets for Sunday - are there other ticketed events I'm missing for Friday or Saturday?

Randy

Thanks, it looks like I may have misread the website, but if I have it right, it is $30 on Sunday (can't make it), and $45 for a weekend pass which would cover Saturday.

Anybody know if same day passes are available at the gate for Saturday, or for this event should I be investing in the weekend pass?

Randy

Boo- just saw that the "Tour de Marque" has been sold out since the beginning of June. I didn't realize there were a limited number of spots available. How fun would it be to drive a couple of laps at the Glen?

Anyone here not sleep on this and get a spot on the track??

Had to think for a minute about the meaning of "Anyone here not sleep on this". Must be a New York colloquialism.

Yes, I'm registered for the Tour d'marque.

TR3 is still on jackstands. I'm making progress, but it's slow progress. If I can't make it I'll post and maybe you can get in. I don't know how they handle cancellations.

haha. Sorry, I run a music marketing company and we deal with a lot of hip-hop. My personal lexicon now includes many such colloquialisms. "Don't sleep" is a good one though. For instance you could say, "Guys , did you see hear the Moss summer sale is ending today? Don't sleep on it!"

Son, that jawn is wack. Nah'mean?

... sorry grew up in South Jersey and live most of the year deep in the heart of west Philadelphia

Anyway, if anyone is borderline for this event, it's a must attend event, regardless of Triumph being the featured marque. Any car buff needs to attend this event at least once.

Randy -- I live just outside of Watkins Glen. The ticket office says those are the only two ticketing options available. You can buy them at the gate though.

Dear Tr4Nut

Glad to here you are going to the Festival. We have gone for the last 13 years and always run in the "Stone Bridge" tour, now leaving from the Gelnora Winery. By the way that is the nicest place to stay. Glenora Inn & Winery. Your wife will be comfortable and happy.

Lots of activites on Friday and Saturday to peak your intersts.

Have a great time. We will be in a 67 Healey 3000, Red over black coves, unless I have the few things done on the Spitty by that time.

Enjoy!

Thanks all-

After talking with Ted over at TSI (an FOT hat and Tshirt is a must have), I took his straightforward suggestion and just gave the Glen a call. I guess I'm too hooked on internet, if I can't find it on a website I don't know what to do anymore.

So its the weekend pass for us, looking forward to it. We're staying over near Trumansburg and will be enjoying the Finger Lakes scenery too, unfortunately not in a Triumph.
