I recently saw a poll similar to the following on a site that I frequent. I was wondering if the results were unusual and how our LBC enthusiasts might respond.

Mine figures that the hobby keeps me close to sane and out of bars (many different kinds) but couldn't give a rip for the cars.

My wife is hooked and has just taken my Austin Healey 100-4 from me and wants her Abarth done this winter for next year. She hand me the keys back to her Sprite and told me to drive it.

When he set the poll up, he chose to not make the results visible until the poll is over. He did not set it up so that you can see results once you have voted. The poll isn't broken, it's just the way he set it up. Once you have voted, you should see on the button "You have Voted in This Poll." When the end date of the poll is reached, then the results should have been visible. Not sure if that's how he intended to set up the poll, but that's how it is set up.

I voted "indifferent", which isn't entirely fair. Wife is very busy all the time, and if she had more time she'd probably go to a show or event with me. Having said that, I'm sure she'd find the car show scene pretty boring anyway.

She's not a car lover and isn't very mechanically-inclined, sooooo . . .

I wouldn't expect the wife (or anyone else) to "support" my hobbies entirely. Being a "car guy" isn't unique, but not everyone loves playing with cars.

Great wife, but she's no car lover! :lol:

My wife is mostly supportive. She's not the enthusiast I am, but she does enjoy the outings that we do related to cars (car shows, club activities, etc). She doesn't get excited like I do, however, at the prospect of a new exhaust on my EType. What's more remarkable is that she puts up with me running this forum LOL!

Mine's rode at least 4000 towing miles with me in 2009, over 8 weekend away. She even did some of the driving during towing. We're more than half way through those numbers for 2010.

She often does registration and timing when I'm too busy at the track. Always checks the Hans Device to makes sure it's not cock-eyed.
And gets food!

Last night she came to a cruise night with me, but neither of us are that interested in the hot rods at these events.

The car being a real life exploded view, means this is the longest I've had the car in my possesion. When its running all I see are the tail lights. Father inlaw had an engine machine shop, and taught his Daughter how to field strip a Chevy 350. She cooks, and she is great in the garage too.

Wife #1 would have been vote #1 hence she's gone!

Wife #2 is supportive, wants her 67 Cooper S done sooner than later, is thinking of going to MC driver's school to go racing, loves to cook, wants to build me a newer and bigger shop, goes to car events with me, and doesn't mind if our vacations have a few car related events thrown in too. I'm keeping this one!!

She loves the car and going for outtings when she can and allergies aren't bad. Indifferent to whatever I do to it but always willing to listen to me babble on about the car or this place.

After a 5 minute one sided explanation of the car topic at hand, I stop and ask, " you really don't care, do you?" She always replies ,"not really but I love you" with a sweet smaile and we move on.
