Paul, I thought those Lucas certificates and pictures looked familiar in the eBay description, then I realized this is the same place that rebuilt my TR6 starter and generator.....
3 years on, both still work fine, although they haven't gotten much of a work-out lately. I remember telling them then to advertise here on BCF.

No, the pulley is smaller from what I was told by Greg on another forum. He has one and loves it. He simply bought a Mr. Gasket pulley, which happens to be chrome and probably what I will do.
As far as the A/C goes, that's one project that I can safely say I will not be doing. I love the top down too much and I only want the hardtop so I can drive it when it's colder, but not snowing.
And with the new seats, I'm really looking forward to summer.

I went with this Delco Alternator it was brand new, works great a little bit less expensive and they will set it up with the proper pulley.

OK, time for a pictorial update. I received the alternator today, via priority mail from California. Not too bad as far as I'm concerned. An eBay vendor that ships on time as promised is OK by me.
Anyhow, I pulled my old stock alternator off the shelf and took some pulley measurements to check things out. You will see the results below. And yes, you do need a new one, but only for the width. When you see the actual measurement at the bottom of the groove, the difference is negligible.
Front view and the stock pulley looks really big, doesn't it?
And the rear view.
And a side view. All looks good so far.
Close up of the back. I like the retainer clip to hold the connector in place.
And the stock unit, so you can see the harness will plug right in.
This is a good idea.
Measurement time. Old pulley, bottom of groove or ID is 1.516"
New pulley is 1.654" at the bottom of the ID.
New pulley OD is 2.446".
Old pulley OD is 2.879".
Bad pic by me here. This is .380" at the top of the groove width.

Another pictorial update. Thanks to Greg's advice, the Mr. Gasket 6808 pulley arrived yesterday and it looks good. Nice chrome finish and it is wider and bigger in diameter. This will allow the use of a wider belt than the pulley that came on it. Perhaps if anyone orders one of these in the future, they can request the wider and bigger pulley.

Almost the same size, so as Greg said, no belt concerns.

Peter, you are correct. You can see the indentation side of the pulley to be replaced on the new alternator in the first shot. That was just for illustration of the diameter on the old pulley.
I have some pictures of it all together, but I'm putting a couple of coats of clear on it now to protect the finish before I install it tomorrow.

A couple of coats of engine clear after the fan installation and we're almost ready to be mounted. After this dries really well for another day or so.
Peter, you will see that it is mounted correctly, which is the only way possible.
Time to install my new polished SS alternator bracket. I almost forgot I had this guy sitting on my bench.
That is an 8mmX25 Metric bolt in there. I thought it was 5/16's" but I was wrong.
