Hi everyone. Just joined this website today. Hope to learn and contribute as the days and months go by. My Spit was just put away for the winter, but the tinkering never ends! :encouragement:

Doug - welcome to BCF.

Everyone has different ways of "storing the car for the winter".

What do you do?

I try to Keep It Simple: Full tank of gas, battery maintainer, mothballs on the floor. But I still drive it here in Connecticut when the roads are dry - regardless of season.

Tom

Fill the tank, add Lucas Safeguard, put the battery maintainer from my now-gone Honda ST1300 on it, add a little oil to each cylinder and crank w/o the plugs to disperse the oil and then put the plugs back in, put a bunch of Bounce sheets in the interior and boot to keep the 8-legged critters at bay, and cover! Since ODOT started early with the road salt and brine, it will sit until it gets warm again. Since I live in NE Ohio, that could be April, or May, or June..... :p

Welcome to the forum! My idea of putting them away for the winter is driving them one day less a week, unless there is salt on the roads:smile:

Hi Doug,

"Welcome" to "THEE" best LBC site anywhere.

living in SC is great. Today I had the TR out in around 70 deg. The weekend forecast is calling for "Sunny 70 deg" days.

Our winter comes late Nov. but there really is no need for Winter storage.

Happy Motoring yr. round,

Russ
