the rubber plug that goes in the outer sill panel to hide the Jack hole. I don't like the way they stick out at ya. since my bugeye will be primrose it will really be seen. has anybody ever tried to stick a bonnet badge in there? or has someone tried something they could paint same color. I really think the Austin healey crest would look good if it would fit

I understand what you mean, but a lot of people really expect to see it with the correct part. However it's your car and you should do what makes you happy.
I would look into painting a jack hole plug body color - I got a good new pair of jack hole plugs for my MK2 Sprite and they were perfect, and for my car (black and red) they look great.
Maybe a paint designed to paint vinyl like some of us have used on vinyl dash and other interior pieces? Don't know how well it will work on rubber.

I seem to recall that Ray Evans used SEM Color Coat on the rubber pads that are attached to the inner door skins. Granted, they don't move around, but Color Coat is a flexible paint, and if it doesn't work, it can just be removed.

+1 - your car, your way, I think it could work very well.

Might look like you're hiding something, like bondo.
yep I know what you mean. but I just replaced mine with new metal.

I am gonna go through my junk parts and see if I have an extra bonnet badge and stick it in that hole and see if it fits. Also the SEm products are very good, I just spayed a complete leather interior on a car I purchased for resale.
