I was just about to post this sad news. I've seen several interviews of his and he seemed like a genuinely nice guy. He loved working on his own home refurb projects and was quite a skilled craftsman (and artist).

It now appears that the announcement of his death was premature. He is however gravely ill and under hospice care.

I read that too, but read it on the internet so was reluctant to post. Butโ€ฆ
โ€œUPDATE: On Tuesday afternoon, Tony Dowโ€™s wife told TMZ that she โ€œbelieved her husband was deadโ€ and told his management team who announced his passing on his official Facebook account. The wife, Lauren, said as of Tuesday afternoon, he is โ€œstill alive and breathing while in hospice careโ€ and sheโ€™s โ€œdistraughtโ€ over the error. The Facebook post has since been taken down.โ€

But not sure if heโ€™s since died, but most major outlets are saying he did as of today. Hopefully they will all get the story straight.

I believe that he now has TRULY died (a day or so later in hospice).

Dow, who said he experienced undiagnosed depression from age 20 to age 40, spoke out for decades about his mental health challenges, long before it was common for celebrities to disclose that information publicly.

In 1993, he was an honorary speaker at a convention for the National Depressive and Manic-Depressive Association.

"I realize there's a perceived irony about this," he told the Baltimore Sun of his depression in 1993. "You know, the fact that I was in a TV program that epitomized the supposed ideal world of the '50s, and here I'm suffering from depression. But I'm just one of millions."
Dow told CBS that once he accepted his diagnosis and began treatment, he found hope. He channeled that hope into art, too, sculpting ornate pieces at his home studio.
