Hello mate, welcome to the forum, from a transplanted Pom! The father of a friend of mine had a Hunter, an early one in red, and a mate that I worked with bought one, a 1976 vintage if memory serves.

They are basic, straightforward, but decent motors, and I always liked the looks of them.

Any questions, post 'em in the "Other British Cars" section, otherwise visit the pub, introduce yourself, shoot the breeze a little.

Good to have you on board.

Hi There Hunter,

"Welcome" to the "BCF" from the Pocono Mtns of PA.

This may seem like a silly question but what does a "Chrysler Hunter" look like? Please post a pic or two.

Hi Paul,

"Thanx" for the pics. I really don`t recall the car but someone should probably send some pics or that ad you posted to "Chrysler".

They, (Chrysler & Motor City in Gen), should start re-building cars like that one. It actually looks pretty modern. They would most likely sell a ton of them in todays market!

It surely would put a dent into Honda, Toyota, Kia, Hyndaui & soon to be "TaTa" etc. Notice all the American made cars!

Lets bring back the Mfg. into this country! Thats the "Change" we need that no one wants to talk about!

Can those politicians see the "Trees thru the Forest"? "I doubt It"!

Thanx Again for the education,

Russ

The major problem of re manufacturing those cars would be meeting all the new regulations such as air bags, environmental engines etc, etc. I agree that they would probably sell a bunch of them and could sell them for under 10Gs. As I remember, quite a few Hillmans, Sunbeams and Humbers were sold here. My sister had a Plymouth Cricket, sort of an updated Hillman and a good little car.

But those cars were no frills cars and today everyone want all the bells and whistles and be able to do 100 mph in 6 seconds. Human nature I guess.

the chrysler hunter is ju8st a rebadged hillman hunter. aparently chyrsler brought out hillman in the late 70s, hence the rebadge. apart from the badge its the same car.

this is mine
