Another eBay beauty

Then again it may have been bought by the likes of a Boyd Coddington, who took a clapped out Delahaye, did a classic Cal. Custom job to it and sold it at Barrett-Jackson for a very tidy sum!! Called the car "What-the-Haye!" Anybody seen it?

Yeah, Coddington sold it for over half-a-mil but it was a beauty. The attachment is what this one could look like eventually. It was the Best-In-Show winner at the 2005 OKC Concours and a former class winner at Pebble Beach. Wish my humble little camera could do it justice.

Hmmm... Your photo looks alot like the e-bay Delahaye. The one the seller said was "Only known pre-war Faget Varnet cabriolet".

Must be some loophole, like the one in your photo is post-war or something.

Either way, they are a sweet-looking car, aren't they!! Something about that late-pre-war, early post-war French styling that somehow just hits the mark!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Agreed. Here's a Delahaye that recently sold for over $1.3 million. Same model as the eBay car but with (apparently) a more desirable body and some history.

It looks a little like some Bugattis in the picture but from other angles it looks more like some of the Talbots of that era.

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/iagree.gifOr even some of the Alfas of the same era!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
