Has anyone got the new book by Bill Piggott "Austin Healey 100 in detail" ?
I already have his earlier book on Healeys and the big Emmerson book, so is this one worth having??

I got an early copy a few months ago wrote a review that was published in the September-October issue of Austin-Healey Magazine. I thought it was an excellent book, but maybe I'm biased: I worked with the author over several months and sent him material and did a pre-publication review of the 100M and 100S chapters.

I like it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

I have the Piggott book. It is well done with good pics. A very good section on Reid's car. I guess it depends on what you want out of it. If you want deep details of things, one of the restoration guides would be better. Specifically the A/M resto guide. The Clausager resto book has very nice pics, but the detail is not as complete as in the A/M book. The Emerson book has great detail & pics of the whole series of Donald Healey involved cars. But again, not the specific detail of the A/M book. Each has it's own best features. You really "should" have them all.

I know I should buy it!! Just trying to justify the expense after receiving a quote to re roof the house and fit double glazing.

I'd like to clarify that there is nothing about MY car in Piggott's book. I suspect you are confusing my car with Bill Meade's car. Bill's car is featured. He's the 100M Registry founder and registrar.

The photos I supplied for the book were historic photos; nothing current, and nothing on my car. (The photos Bill Meade supplied were of his car.)

True. Piggott's book is a history of the cars, not a restoration guide or tech manual. If you like marque history (and in this case, that of just the 100), then you'll like this book. If you're looking for tech help or restoration advice, skip it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

Sorry Reid, that's what happens when I have too many books. Of course it was featured in the AHCUSA magazine. It should have been in Piggott's book. Please forgive me.
