Another Backfiring post

My car is doing something that it has'nt done in the past.
It backfires when starting up, and the first initial warmup process.
Let me tell you alittle about the car. It hasnt been driven in 1 1/2 yrs due to paint and bodywork downage time.
I replaced the Fuel filter to make sure no debris was getting to the carbs. The gas seems clear and clean, so it doesnt look like its contaminated. The gas is new, but the tank sat empty after cleaning it for a good 2 months. Also, I replaced the plug wires and cleaned the plugs?
Any ideas, or suggestions?

P.S. Maybe it just needs to be driven and given a chance to stretch her legs...

Hi Newkie

What year is your car and what type of carb or carbs are you running? Let us know these things and it will be a little easier to sort out.

Regards John

Sorry, its a 73'B and it has dual SU's. Hope this helps.
I feel like it has to run a good 10-15 minutes before it starts to get a good spark, and feels and sounds right. After that, it smooths out pretty good.
