Yea, I've gotta slow down but couldn't help it yesterday.
The road, btw, is straight/flat and you can see for miles with about 4 access roads in 15 miles so a pretty safe spot.
MX5's are fun to 'tag' because they have to really spool up the motor for any speed and this Toyota box with the TR's torque really gives you a jump on em.
I'm amazed at the transformation of the car.
It seems to me that the Toyota ratios match the cars torque curve much better than the stock tranny (besides the quick shifting issue)...2nd gear is a real jump fwd.
When we got to town I pulled up alongside (red light) and was going to 'visit' a bit and talk cars...he totally ignored me, wouldn't even look over at me.
To rub it in a pick up pulled next to me on the three lane (thay had observed the thumping) and couldn't wait to ask about the Triumph, what it was, how fast etc. The guy still wouldn't look over. I thought that a bit unneighborly.
 
I just got back from a nice drive and happened to post this in 6-pack but I think it works here too!

Well.... the forecast is looking mighty cool for the upcoming week, so it was finally time to put the top up for the rest of the season. Top up, windows up and heat on for a nice little 40 minute drive out in the country.

So am I the only one who notices sounds, noises, creaks and groans that you never hear when the top is down? First I can actually hear & understand the radio. Then there's the soft clicking of the injectors and, of course, my ticky tach....along with a bunch of suspension and engine sounds that get drowned out by wind and exhaust note. And it's always a surprise how muffled the exhaust sounds with the top and windows up.

And now I'm really loving how easily that new heater control valve works.
 
Yeah, right. Mine is up in the air with <span style="font-weight: bold">nothing</span> in the rear except air. Waiting for RATCO to send me their rear crossmember (any day now).
 
Bill, you probably have some idea how nice the weather is up here. I'm 75 miles due North of New Orleans. Coming back home from Columbia, fueling up, I thought a good way to see if my recent float adjustment was too low or not.
I figured if I could keep the accelerator floored for a couple of miles without a sputter, it was OK.
I don't think I went 2 miles. I kept it on the floor until I hit 90. That was enough for me.
The road was clear front and back, but the church parking lots were full, if you know what I mean.
 
Up the coast on old 101/CA 1 (minimum freeway) to the Wind and Sea restaurant in Dana Point. Right on the water at the marina. Good food.

Got in a 100 mile drive on Saturday. Had to drive out of town for a motorcycle safety class. Saturday was a nice day so I took the TR3.
 
Here in Snowy Colorado it was 65 F, went out to pick up the pizza and have a drive ...
 
I have been out most of the day cruizing around town with my dog as passanger breaking in the motor. It is a beautiful 70 and sunny skies here in the Delta.
 
It is bleepin' freezing up here!!!!!

It's now 18 above with a wind chill of 10 and it's still dropping. It will probably hit about 15 and near zero wind chill as that artic breeze continues.

I just had to put some trash in the garage and looked at the poor banana with it's new blue cover, just sitting there, waiting for spring once again.
 
I had a great drive today in New Orleans, started out at 49 and got up to 60. Put on a nice leather Bomber Jacket, gloves, and hat and drove for a couple of hours. Took some pictures of the car broke in the wooden steering wheel and just had a wonderful time. I do have to fix my heater if i pull out the fan switch it kills the engine and blows a fuse, the leads are reading dead short to ground, looks like it will have to come out.

The "Mekong Delta"! I flew in there in `67. Weather was a nice balmy 103deg. in the shade. Nice Red Powdery clay dirt road for a ride. We took out a "Green Duece and half" for a ride. I wonder who made it; Triumph, Jaguar, MG; I`m not certain!!

29F and out for a few miles today with the top down. That's probably it until Spring as it's time to get going on Winter projects now. I hope to convert it to overdrive if work doesn't get too much in the way.
 
Cold and rain last Saturday, snow on Sunday. Snow flurries a good part of last week. Today is cold with a lot of salt on the ground. Tomorrow and most of next week to be the same. Is this November?
I guess "global warming" is on hold right now.

Thank you, it is amazing what a good camera can do. BTW your web site has been a great help with work on my car it is appreciated.
