This weekend was 4 years since I got my TR6. I've logged over 19,000 miles with only 2 break downs -and one I fixed on the side of the road, so it doesn't really count.

I've spent countless hours driving or working on (improving) the car, but never painted any of it. Seeing the work of Dale and others, I've had a change of mind. This weekend, before replacing the fuzzy door seals, I masked off and painted the windshield frame (black). I wanted to paint under where the rubber seal glues to the frame, and really wanted to replace the red fuzzy (without any rubber) door seals. The doors open and close nicer and the frame looks much better (much of it was faded to grey primer). The weather was great for a 100 mile drive through the National Forest towards Huntsville.

It was a good anniversary.

Once you start painting, there is no stopping!

Congrats on your anniversary. I think it is great for these cars to be driven. I had mine 2 years Sept 15th and even though it was down for a year before I had time to get it running again, it has had about 7,500 miles in that time. Over 4,000 since mid July and ALL top down!

Dale,

You, sir, have entirely too much time on your hands. Go back to being a full time architect. Powder coated towel racks? Eastwood's got to love you!!

Tex,

Congratulations on the nice job on the frame and seals. And keep enjoying the car. I wish that I had more time to spend in mine, but that day is coming.
