I don't need the phone today, so I'll give it a try. I didn't think to record the system version before I did the reset.

The update file name is the same today as the one I tried previously.

We'll see how this goes ...
 
hmmmm - the system update has now been running for 3.5 hours. Reminds me of the attempt last week.

If it's still going at 3pm - I'm quitting the update.

I chickened out and didn't stop the update. Phone is in safe mode, but after nine hours it's still running ("installing"). Maybe some magic will happen overnight.

There over 13GB space available, so no problem there. Size of update is 153MB.

That phone retails for $30 new. I think that is the basis of the problem.
