And what are you doing ...

Bought a new Camera last week, a Canon 7D, and had to try it out.

Saturday: A trip to Sandia Crest

Sunday: Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta

Managed to get some decent shots considering I've barely learned to turn the 7D on. My favorite:

Took the MGB GT down to Clear Lake yesterday,
(7 hour round trip), to look at the Cortina replacement.
Was foggy here, but over 70 there.

Some nice ones Basil, I rather like your stagecoach balloon in the B&W sepia... Our hot air balloon scene up here is rather small, I rarely see them and events for them are non-existent...

FUN STUFF!!!

I like the "astronaut suit" shot.

Basil - nice balloon shot! Reminds me of the time I went up with a friend in a rented Cessna 152 to take pictures of a balloon race in NW Louisiana years ago. I'd been up in private planes many times, and always enjoyed it. Even considered flying lessons for a while. But never had the window opened.

Popped it open and grabbed my camera. But when I turned in the seat to make the shots, I froze! I ~knew~ there was no way I was gonna get sucked out of my seat, but I completely locked up.

Glenn was always quick to kid, mercilessly at times. But he was really concerned and asked if I was OK. I said I'd be OK - just needed a minute to "compose", if you'll pardon the pun. :smirk:

Did collect myself and got some great shots. But I'll never forget the feeling of dread I had when that window opened!

Now, back to weekend events!

One of my regrets is that I never got to parachute school, but, I do recall that they told padres that, on their first jump, if they didn't go up - the failed the course.

Now back to the weekend - lovely pics boss!

Went to a Corvair convention and show with a friend and found this. Looks like a factory installation. The rest of the car looked at least as good too.

WOW! THAT is brilliant - not an easy fit, for sure!

Guess the radiator is up front...?

Great shots boss. That was a huge gathering of balloons. That "craft" has certainly grown in size & creativity in the last few decades.
I bet the drive to the "crest" would be really neat in an E Type

Peter - hug your middle daughter for all of us and do keep us abreast of her health. I am sorry that her biological history is not kind to her but I suspect with you and the rest of the family in her corner all will end up well.

Boss - great photos.

To the rest of us, we are so blessed to do what we do and play with our LBC's. :grouphug:

Today will find me picking up husbands scripts while he does other things. I'll just have to take Agatha to WallyWorld and just maybe we will make a stop at Sonic for their supersonic breakfast burrito. We all need a good breakfast. What I don't do for my husband.
