My new Koyo TO bearing is singing. Maybe it has to "break in". I lubed it well, who knows. The other one never did that. And, the new Magic Clutch (Sachs) SMOKED after the first hour's run. Then it stopped. Crazy, crazy.

Tinster, have you been in my garage?
 
Bill, mine doesn't sing, but does make a bit of friction noise every now and then, which is all in another thread. I still haven't been able to get it on a lift to correct what I think is the problem in the linkage.

Just out of curiosity, if you disconnect the linkage and push the lever arm away from the PP, does it stop singing?
 
What's a lift. Jack stands, and at this point, that is the farthest thing from my mind. Gotta get the sparking or whatever worked out.
 
You guys are worrying me. I've got 500 bucks invested into my clutch replacement and haven't even taken the tranny out of the car yet.

Don't worry too much. Clutch threads are a way of life with TR6's and this forum. For that matter, look at 6-Pack and they thrive there as well. Right alana??

They happen here about every three weeks, whether we need them or not. I should know, I had one of the longest running ones and it's still going on.

Just follow the instructions, install new bushings in the case and remember, IF YOU ARE NOT ABSOLUTELY SURE OF WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO DO, ASK HERE FIRST.

As you can see, we all help each other as quickly as possible.
