As you probably know by now, "Ross" won the latest Virtual Rally that ended 31 Jan 09. By coincidence, Ross lives in the same town as yours truly (Edgewood, NM) although we had never met. Since he did win, and had never met me, I conspired with another Edgewood resident and BCF member who knew Ross and his wife, Michelle, to pull a bit of a surprise on Ross. Member judow (Judy) called Ross and invited he and his wife to Breakfast this morning , along with a couple of other "friends" (Basil and wife and Bob Lee and Sharon Sprague). As we ate breakfast, it was hard to keep a straight face as Ross told us all how he had invited Basil (me) to the breakfast, but that Basil had told him he had a prior engagement (I lied).

After breakfast was done, I sprang the surprise and stood up and said "I have a confession to make...." then let the cat out of the bag that I was really Basil and had the $200 Moss Gift Certificate to present to the Virtual Rally winner. The look on his face when he learned he had just had breakfast with the guy who had a $200 prize for him was, well - see for yourself:

Oh oh, the jig's up. Now everyone knows what Basil looks like. I have to say that <span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold">I</span></span> don't look ANYTHING like those pictures! Ugh. I would've shaved if I'd known I was going to meet the paparazzi. Thanks to Judy for the setup. I'll pay her back when she least expects it! It was great to meet Mary as well. And of course, another big thanks to Basil for spending the time and effort for us all to enjoy our hobby on the international stage! Oh, and BTW, NEVER EVER believe anything Basil says! :wall:

A fitting ending to a great rally.

Did anyone else notice how the Superbowl kind of mimicked the rally? (at least if I consider myself the Cardinals)
