Been there done that. Lots of work with VOM in advance makes it a whole lot easier. Looks like a lot of Pretesting has already been completed.

Yep, lots of checking as I go. Found a couple of unconnected wires that I gave no idea what are, not on wiring diagram and haven’t traced them yet. They are not coming from the harness. Also, as an added bonus I found a hidden cut off switch up under the dash 🙃. What wonders these old cars hold!

That 'hidden cut-off switch' might be the switch for turning the instrument lights off: wee, rectangular black thingy? slides left to right?? Actually adding a second 'stock' on-off switch and hooking it to the ignition (or the electric fuel pump, if you have one) might be a good security device. That way, each Spring as the car comes out of storage, you can go nuts wondering why it won't start.
Is that Primrose Yellow? Doug

And I forgot to comment, looking a the wiring, that you're a better man than I.
One other observation: we bought an extremely expensive, high quality, harness for our BE some years ago that was more of a kit. For our purposes, I should've just purchased a replacement harness as the improvements - for me - probably won't worth the extra money or effort. Definitely no criticism of other choices nor of the supplier, but 'fitness for purpose' is an ideal that is sometimes difficult to determine before hand. And - without being rude! - 'have fun'. Hi Doug, no, it wasn’t the instrument shut off switch. This was a simple on/off toggle that looks like it interrupted the power to the ignition. We were trying for primrose, but the end result is a little brighter then the true primrose. As for the switch, it’s good that it was in the “on” position. Who knows what trouble I would have created trying to “fix” it😊.
