I enjoyed talking today with 14dna and of course took him up on his generous offer! I spent the day cleaning up years of dirt and grime. Got it up on jack stands removed the front wheels...The tires ya'll love to make fun of were p215/70R14. Maybe that's why it looked like it was ready to run a mud race.
Removed the steering cowel (sp) and found the mess I expected...will need to replace the ignition switch and head light switch. Wipers worked and the "bright" lights but no signals or hazards yet.
Drained the fluids (except the gas tank)
Which leads to the new question of the night...How do I remove the old gas? Do I have to? does this really mean dropping the tank?
