...and favorite WWII Movies?

BTW, there are some really great flicks being mentioned here, and when any of them come on TV I will most likely watch it. But, if I really had to pick a favorite, the vote would have to go to Das Boot. It really doesn't seem to matter whether you watch it in German or English. Once you've seen it in English, watching in German makes it so much more real and authentic...if that's even possible. What a movie. :thirsty:

I liked saving private ryan

I just watched Run Silent, Run Deep on the nostalgia channel, and thoroughly re-enjoyed that one too!! (I also grew up on the genre!!!)

The Caine Mutiny

Ok, I'm not a history expert, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't set in WWII

Sure it was. The Caine Mutiny. You're thinking of 'Mutiny on the Bounty'.

You're right, I was thinking of "Mutiny on the Bounty" my bad...

Interesting tidbit on there about the Director of the Caine Mutiny and his "affiliations"

Love all those movies. Watched Sands of Iwo Jima last night.
Got to throw in my 2 cents for
"1941" John Belushi, Dan Akroyd, John Candy, Treat Williams, Warren Oats, Joe Flerrety (sp?),Ned Beatey, Robert Stack, Tim Matheson
