I like all things LBC...the cars, the history, the owners stories, old/new photos, you name it. At home (much of it previously in my office) models, MG clock, original brochures, post cards, magazines...speaking of which...

Last week on Ebay I picked up a nice February 1962 issue of Car and Driver Magazine. Actually I bid on one and lost it at $16 because my SNIP didn't fire (bad password). Bummed out over it I thought to do a search and found this one...in better condition, for $4.95!

I love the old ads too! I've picked up quite a few for my 1970 MGB including an original dealer brochure.

I've also noticed that many of the original Bugeye ads seemed to be directed toward women!
 
BTW, Jack, when I posted the photo above it occurred to me that a nice, period correct, Look or Life magazine in the front seat of Miss Agatha at the upcoming show would be oh so nice!

When I show the Midget it's with the tool roll, owner's manual, dealer's brochure, paint chip card, post cards, yada yada; all very formal and correct...and all there with the usual signage.

BUT....when I cruise in with the old TR3 it's different. A few old photos and a magazine or two, and a plastic laminated sign that goes on the windscreen that says "Go ahead kid...you CAN touch this one!". It's much more fun...interractive. More folks want to talk about the car and pose for photos with it. I usually open the door and invite them to snap a couple behind the wheel. Most enjoyable in a university town (Athens) with a disproportionate female student population /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

The '62 Car and Driver above will be one of the props that accompanies the '62 Sprite when she rolls out...hopefully next spring.

Nice find, Ray. I've got a few old ads around, never thought to include them when the Bugeye is at a show. Neat idea.
